This will be a (2) two day event showcasing the skills and talents of barbers representing the East Coast. There will be 8 categories of haircut and the Best Barbers must compete in 5 of the categories to cumulate the most points

There will be a total of 8 Barber Battles and the top 5 barbers with the highest number of points, from each Battles will be invited to the final competition.

The Best Barber for each Battle will receive: 

  • 1st $10,000

  • 2nd $7,000

  • 3rd $5,000

  • 4th $3,000

  • 5th $2,000

The top 5 Barbers invited to the final competition must secure Lounging, food and entertainment for you, 5 models and one assistance before leaving the venue.

There will be a 2 two day registration and all Barber must bring a model to cut.

Barber School Competition

Barber Schools will be competing against other barber school apprentice.

Barber school must have a minimum of 5 apprentice participating in (5) five categories.

Vendors will display products for sale, local talent performances, fashion show and presentation of the winners and awards.

The barbers competing in the Best Barbers event must compete in 5 of the 8 categories to accumulate the most points. The Best Barber for each Barber Battle will receive a grand prize of $10,000.  The top 5 barbers with the highest number of points, from each Barber Battle will be invited to the final competition. The State with the largest number of barber’s participation and public turn out will host the 9th and final competition to determine.

Contestant participating in the Best Barber on the East Coast must compete in a minimum of 5 categories that would accumulate the maximum number of points to win. The 5 barbers with the highest number of points will be invited to the final competition to determine the Best Barber on the East Coast. An application must be completed. There is a maximum of 50 entries for each category. Contestants entering the Best Barber on the East Coast will be seated first and all other contestants will be full in open spots. Full in contestants can only participate in 2 (two) categories. Money will be refunded to all entries received after category is filled.

There will be a 2 two day registration and all Barber must bring a model to cut to cut.

Barber School

Barber Schools will be competing against other barber school apprentice.

Barber school must have a minimum of 5 apprentice participating in (5) five categories.

Students will be judge as a group.

Students with the highest score in each category will receive cash prize.

Barber School winner receive Barber Kit and $500 paid on tuition. 

Best Barber Shop

Barber shop must have a minim of 3 Barbers participating in (5) five categories. Barber Shops will be judge as a group.

RULES

Barbers and models will be photograph for judging and possible use in advertising the ECBB. Models will be photographed before, during and after the Barber completes the haircut. Due to time restraints, there is no tolerance for lateness. Contestants will be disqualified with no refund.

 

1. Contestants can have one representative in the designated area. Representative will receive a T-shirt. This person is only allowed to distribute flyers, business cards and information on your behalf. The representative is not allowed in any way to assist barber in cutting, designing, or handling equipment. Contestant must pay a $20 fee for the representative. Payment is due with application fee only. No representative will be allowed on the day of the event if not paid with application fee.

 

2. The competition is open to all licensed barbers, or barber stylist. Barber schools will be competing against other Barber schools. Barber Schools must have a minimum of 5 students cutting in 5 different categories. Barber Schools can have a maximum of 8 students cutting in all categories but only the top 5 scores will be tabulated.

 

3. No pre-work may be done on the model before the competition. All cutting, including the basic haircut MUST be done on stage. The starting point of the heads is to be a "Clean Canvas".

 

4. Models must be dressed in an appropriate attire to reflect the mood of the hair creation.

5. All cut hair must be left on the floor.

 

6. Straight edge razors and/or razor blades can be used at your own risk.

7. Pencil lines up or hair fibers are not allowed if used there will be points deducted from the precision category, but contestant can receive a point in the presentation category.

8. It is the responsibilities of each Barber to secure and furnish his/her own barber equipment, materials need to cut the hair and all models. We will provide the rest.

9. The Competition Director, Competition Committee, and/or ECBB Officials determine any rule not herein provided for. The decision of the Committee is final.

10. The Barber/Contestant must sign and submit the Official Entry Application and the required fee. In doing so, the Barber agrees to abide by the decision of the judges.

11. There must be a minimum of 10 contestants for each category by the start of the competition. If there are NOT 10 contestants at the start of the competition prizes/prize money will be altered. No refunds if there are opening in other events the contestant can change without additional fees.

 

12. Only 1(one) Barber Kit Pre-Person regardless of how many competitions entered or won (If contestants win more than one event, he/she will only receive 1 (one) Barber Kit, but he/she will still receive all monies for all events won.)

Judging of each category

 
JUDGING

20 Judges within the barbering industry will score from a 1 to 10-point value, each category has its own point value. The barber with the highest number of points will win that event.

Contestants will be judge on the following:

  • Style

  • Difficulty

  • Precision

  • Shape up.

  • Overall Appearance

  • Categories and point value

Beard Cut ----------------------------- 1-5

Extreme Beard Design ------------  2-6

Regular Cut (under 2”) ------------ 1-5

Regular Bush Cut (over 2”) ------  2-6

Fade Cut (under 2”) ---------------- 1-5

Fade Bush Cut (over 2”) ----------  2-6

Design Cut ---------------------------  2-7

Extreme Design Cut  --------------  3-10

Each category will be judged with the point value beside the category. (Example: Beard cut will receive 1 to 5 points for each of the judging categories; the barber can receive a total of 25 points or a minimum of 5 points.  The Extreme Design Cut can receive 3 to 10 points for each of the judging categories; and can receive a total of 50 points and a minimum of 15 points.

 

The Barber with the highest number of accumulated points out of the 5 cuts will be the winner of the event. The Best Barber will receive a grand prize of $2,500 and the top 4 barber with the highest number of points will be invited to the final competition to determine the Best Barber on the East Coast

 

Best Barber Shop

Barber shop must have a minim of 3 Barbers participating in (5) five categories. Barber Shops will be judge as a group. The Barbers with the highest number of accumulated points out of the 5 cuts as a group will be the winner of the event.  

 

Best Barber School

Barber school must have a minimum of 5 apprentice barbers participating in (5) five categories. Students will be judge as a group. Students with the highest number of accumulated points as a group out of the 5 cuts will be the winner of the event.

 

All tie breaks will be judged by a new panel of 3 judges within the industry.  The contestants will be judge on the same criteria with a 1-to-10 point value. The contestant with the highest number of points will win the event.

SPEED CUTS

This contest is only for Barbers not participating in the Battle. Barbers must sign in day of event on first come basics. Models will be volunteers from the public. We will provide all materials need. There will be 5 contestants competing at a time, only one winner pre-group. Two categories regular or fade,

Regular Cuts:

The contestant who cuts the most regular haircuts within 60 minutes wins. Contestants will be judge on the following:

  • Precision 1- 5

  • Shape up elements 1- 5 

  • Overall Appearance 1-5

  • Extra points for (Temple fade/Neck fade/Shaped sideburns, etc.)

  • Number of cuts completed

Equipment used for this event will be: Provide by Sponsor for example; Wahl Seniors with clip on guard and Wahl Outliners and Barbers For Life will provide the T-shirts for winners and participates.

Winners will receive; Sponsor Equipment and products.  Example if Wahl sponsored this competition.

The contestant who cuts the most fade haircuts within 60 minutes wins. Contestants will be judge on the following:
